Question: What is your statement concerning the one who says that Shaykh Rabee—may Allah preserve him—does not verify the reports relayed to him?

Shaykh Muhammad Bazmool: I say this person does not know Shaykh Rabee, he does not know Shaykh Rabee. The person who knows Shaykh Rabee, and is close to him; he knows the extent to which the Shaykh verifies speech and reports.

We will be in his gathering and a person from among us will say a statement such as he will attribute something to this book or to that book, and the Shaykh will not accept it until we extracted it from that book and then he looks at it. He says: ‘This is the library, go bring the book and show me the statement.’ The Shaykh does not accept reports (without verifying) even in the affairs of knowledge and statements, so how about when it comes to individuals! And how about these affairs connected to advice and criticizing the people of innovation and criticizing the people of desires and the likes. The Shaykh verifies these affairs with extensive verification —and I do not commend anyone over Allah.

And I want from this person, and other than him to bring us something the Shaykh said which was not like he said it was. Shaykh Rabee—Shaykh Muqbil may Allah have mercy upon him—said concerning him: ‘If this man informs you that a man is a Hizbee and his Hizbiyyah is not apparent to you at the time, his Hizbiyyah will manifest, even if it is after a period of time.’ This is the statement of Shaykh Muqbil. And Shaykh Al Albani said: ‘I read the books of Shaykh Rabee and I did not find in them anything from mistakes, that we oppose or that we are not upon.’ (Or as the Shaykh said, may Allah have mercy upon him)

If the man were not from the people of verification the statements would baffle him and he would be easily swayed by the affairs to the right and to the left, but the affair is not like they have said.

And then, every affair which Shaykh Rabee has engaged in such as the affair of Abul Hassan, the Shaykh—may Allah preserve him, and make us and him firm upon the truth—did not speak from his desires nor from himself. Rather he only said that which was written by Abul Hassan or that which was heard from the voice of Abul Hassan, or positions which are well-known and attested to; which the people bear witness belong to Abul Hassan. And likewise concerning the speech of Sayyid Qutb, and likewise concerning the speech of Salman Al Owdah, and likewise concerning the speech of Abdur Rahman Abdul Khaaliq and likewise concerning the speech of Safar Al Hawaalee, and likewise concerning the speech of Shaykh Al Magharaawee, and other than them. May Allah guide us and guide them. May Allah give us and them success in following the truth and adhering to it and dying upon it.
