A Principle of Salafiyaah: Staying Away from Innovators | Shaykh Khaalid adh-Dhufayree‏

Listen from here!

“Likewise from the means of escaping trials and tribulations is to stay away from the people of desires, to be cautious of them and to warn against them. This is a Salafi principles known to the people of knowledge which is indicated by the Quran, the Sunnah and the sayings of the Pious Predecessors from the Companions, Taabi’een and other than them.

The People of knowledge have a consensus on abstaining from the people of innovation, freeing oneself from them and staying away from them that a number of scholars have narrated this consensus. They agreed on staying away from the people of innovation and not to read or look into their books, with the exception of the one who wants to refute them but generally the person should read and listen to (the works) of the people of knowledge and should stay away from people of desire. He should listen to the people of Sunnah and stay away from people of innovation.

We do not say as they [some people] say these days – and this is an innovated misguided principle, which is ‘to take the truth and leave the false’. No doubt that were ordered to accept the truth and leave off falsehood but we are not ordered to seek the truth from the people of innovation and desires, (rather) we take the truth from the pure and we take it from the place which has no ambiguities or innovations.
